Arts & crafts house designed by Fred Rowntree. Sharing with 8 other students and professionals. Joseph Rowntree built Rawcliffe Holt in 1907 for his daughter Winifred. Fred Rowntree was the Architect who's work includes West China University at Chengtu. This historic property retains many charming features and is bright and spacious in its design.
Each bedroom has a comfortable bed, plenty of storage and fitted blinds. The ground floor comprises an entrance hall, three spacious bedrooms, a shower, WC with hand basin and the kitchen dining area. The kitchen has a luxurious feel with granite worktops and patio doors which lead to a large patio/garden giving the room a bright, airy feel. The kitchen has all the appliances you would require including two American fridge/freezers and a separate utility area with two washer/dryers. The first floor has four further bedrooms and two very large, fresh bathrooms both with shower over bathtubs, WC and hand basins. There is an area to the front where off road parking is available and there is bike storage.
At full occupancy the property houses eight students/professionals. Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 are on the ground floor and 4, 5, 6 and 7 are on the first floor 8 &9 are in the attic. Rawcliffe Holt sits in a quiet area while still being close to York city centre. You can walk into the city centre within fifteen minutes by strolling straight down Bootham or if you fancy a more scenic route you can walk or cycle into town via the path next to the river. The beautiful Homestead Park is a five-minute walk away and a Spar convenience shop is only a couple of minutes away.
